In Another Life Same

If you are sanctioned; painted
to a cross; child lost and dusted;
letters delivered; careless slices
and ants infested.

If you are blocked and weeded,
dropped in a well, full
of unheeded words
where windows roll up.

Remember the goldfish
in a bowl; invisible to other bowls
and other fishes. Somewhere
on another shelf it happens
again for the first time.
